Cell Phones Are Replacing Traditional Phones

By Tell Lockhart

Many people have decided to drop their traditional phone service and go exclusively with a cell phone. For years people have paid for both services and now you don't really need both of them anymore. If you have some good cell phones for every member of the house, why have that old phone that hooks into the wall?

You can always be available to take a call since most folks keep their cell phone with them. Perhaps the only argument for having a traditional phone would be in the case where you might not be able to get a cell phone signal, such as during an electrical outage or a storm. Most people are not afraid to take that chance.

The one thing that makes cell phones more difficult than a house phone is choosing which carrier offers the best cell phone plan for you. Because there are so many different options, with so many different amounts of coverage it can be hard to find the carrier that you like, that also carries the cell phone you like.

No cell phone manufacturer will sell their cell phones to every company, often times they have select few that they will sell to. For some people, choosing the carrier that they prefer is based on what kind of cell phone brands they carry while others will choose a carrier based on the plans that they offer. It just depends on your preference. Sometimes you will be able to find a carrier that has both, but this happens rarely.

If you end up at a mall, you will see kiosks of the different cell phone companies all over the place and you have to wonder how to ever choose which ones. Sometimes they will even have kiosks for the same phone company in multiple places in the mall. The competition for your business is fierce but when you go to sign up it seems like there is not much individualization of plans. They should make more effort to tailor a plan around want you want instead of giving you the same plans as everyone else.
